The iQOO 15 is scheduled to launch in China next month, following the launch of last year's iQOO 13. Ahead of the official launch, Vivo's sub-brand has confirmed that this smartphone will be one of the first phones to feature the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Previous iQOO flagships also launched with Qualcomm's latest chipsets. The iQOO 15 has already been teased to feature a 6.85-inch 2K display. It is currently available for pre-booking in China.

iQOO India CEO Nipun Marya gave a glimpse of the iQOO 15 in a post on Twitter (previously X) on Thursday. The post confirms that the phone will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. This latest flagship chipset from Qualcomm is based on a 2+6 core architecture, with two prime cores clocked at 4.6GHz and six performance cores clocked at 3.62GHz.

The company has already confirmed that the iQOO 15 will feature a 6.85-inch 2K 8T LTPO Samsung 'Everest' display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The display will offer 6,000 nits of local peak brightness, 2,600 nits of full-screen brightness, and 3,200Hz instant touch response. The phone will also feature iQOO's in-house Q3 gaming chipset.

The iQOO 15 is also expected to feature a color-changing rear panel. The phone will launch in China in October and is available for pre-booking on the company's official online store.

Previous leaks have claimed that the iQOO 15 will feature a 7,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired and wireless charging. It may feature a triple rear camera unit consisting of a 50-megapixel 1/1.56-inch primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom. It may also feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The iQOO 15 is likely to feature an IP68 or IP69 rated build for dust and water resistance.

Last year, the iQOO 13 launched in China in October and arrived in India in December, so it's expected that the iQOO 15 will follow the same timeline.

In addition to the iQOO 15, several other flagship smartphones will also launch with Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The Xiaomi 17 series debuted in China on Thursday with this processor. The Honor Magic 8 series, OnePlus 15, and Realme GT 8 Pro will also use this flagship processor.
