Virat Kohli joins Team India in New York for the T20 World Cup 2024; will he play today against Bangladesh?

After a 16-hour flight, Virat Kohli arrived in New York on Friday to join the Indian team. However, it is still unclear if he will play against Bangladesh on Saturday in the T20 World Cup 2024 practice match. He was not allowed to participate in India's practice session. After arriving at the hotel, he made the decision to rest. After a lengthy flight, Virat Kohli checked into the team hotel, according to multiple media reports citing BCCI sources. He will now take some time to relax.

Whether Virat Kohli will take part in the practice match against Bangladesh today will depend on how he feels and whether he is ready to play against the Bangladesh team at the Nassau County Cricket Ground? Kohli has scored 741 runs in 15 IPL matches. He does not need many practice matches and will get three good net sessions before the first match against Ireland on June 5.

In a video shared by the US Consulate Mumbai on X, Kohli said honestly I never thought that we would be able to play any kind of cricket in America, but now it is a reality. This tells you about the growing influence of the game in the world and the United States is ready to accept this change and will probably be the first country globally to accept it with the World Cup.

He said before leaving India to join his national teammates in New York that it is a great start. This is the ideal way to start and it is going to have a huge impact. It is a kind of domino effect in the beginning and I hope it continues for a long time. Kohli also said that people from the South Asian region living in the US are able to carry this momentum forward.
