'This is a new chapter of the model of corruption', BJP lashes out at Congress over the National Herald case
Former Union Minister and BJP MP Anurag Thakur has attacked Congress over the National Herald case. He alleged that the National Herald scam is a new chapter of the Congress model of corruption. He said that as soon as the name of Herald comes out, a kind of panic, restlessness and discomfort starts appearing in the entire system of the party.

Former Union Minister Anurag Thakur, who is a BJP MP, charged the National Herald scam as a new page of the Congress model of corruption. The Congress Chief Ministers of several Congress-ruled states provide money not as donations but as advertisements for the funds of National Herald, he said. He also raised the question on what basis are these advertisements given, when the newspapers are not publishing them?
Taking a dig at the Congress, Anurag Thakur, while talking to journalists here, said that as soon as the name of Herald comes out, a kind of panic, restlessness and discomfort starts appearing in the entire system of the party, because their theft has been caught.
He said that the case of National Herald is a model in itself, which is not going down well with anyone. He said that some newspapers are only on paper, which are not printed, sold and read and National Herald falls in this category.
Taking a dig at the advertisements given to the newspapers of Congress-ruled states, Anurag quipped that Rahul Gandhi used to talk about the Khata Khata model earlier. Today, the same model has become dilapidated, sick and helpless in Congress-ruled states. The promises made to the people there are not being fulfilled, but government money is being given to institutions like National Herald by giving advertisements.
