Women’s Asia Cup Final 2026: India Clinch Eighth Title, Decline Trophy Presentation With Mohsin Naqvi

The medals were awarded to the match officials and Sri Lankan players, but the Indian players left the ground, bringing an end to the ceremony. This is the second time within less than a year that Naqvi has had to face humiliation as before, even Suryakumar Yadav and his teammates had refused to accept the trophy after winning the Asia Cup 2025.
Before the presentation ceremony, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia and Vice President Rajiv Shukla presented the fielding medal to Nandini Sharma. Saikia addressed the players and congratulated them. In the final of the Women's Asia Cup 2026 held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Sunday, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led Indian team won the Women's Asia Cup title by defeating defending champions Sri Lanka by 72 runs for the eighth time.
Chasing a target of 184, Sri Lanka was all out for 111, allowing India to lift the trophy and become Asian champions once again. Following half-centuries from Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma and a record-breaking 129-run opening partnership, the Indian bowlers performed brilliantly. Shree Charani took four wickets, and Deepti Sharma took three. Kranti Gaud, Shefali, and Prema Rawat also took one wicket each.
