This veteran of RCB is going to retire, played his last match in Chepauk!

For veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik of Royal Challengers Bangalore, the opening IPL 2024 match wasn't all that memorable. because the reigning champion Chennai Super Kings presented a challenge for his team to overcome. After the 2024 Indian Premier League, this seasoned RCB player will retire from league cricket. After the game against RCB, he revealed this to everyone's surprise.

In the press conference after the match, Dinesh Karthik was asked whether this was your last IPL match at MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk)? On this Dinesh Karthik said, actually I also want that this should not be the last, because playoffs and some knockouts can happen here. I hope I can come back and this could be the last one. But, yes... I think this is the last one.

The first match of IPL 2024 was played between CSK and RCB at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. In this match, RCB captain Faf Du Plessis won the toss and decided to bat first. Based on the brilliant innings of Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik, RCB scored 173 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. But, CSK achieved the target and won with the loss of 4 wickets in 18.4 overs.
