ESP vs ARG, Spain Beats Argentina in World Cup Final: Argentina faced defeat against Spain in the FIFA World Cup 2026 final, shattering Lionel Messi's dream of winning a second title.
On Sunday night, Spain defeated the defending champions Argentina by 1-0 and thus won the trophy for the second time. Argentina had dreams of retaining the championship title but those hopes were dashed against all odds. Lionel Messi, an Argentine star player, was seen crying during the match. Messi was not playing actively in the match and hence, he did not show off his talent. There is now a video going viral on social media about Messi crying.
This was the second victory for Spain after 2010. The goal scored by Spain was scored in the 106th minute of the match by the substitute player Ferran Torres. Spain completely dominated the match played in New Jersey Stadium, New York as the number of shots on goal was 20 while for Argentina the same was just one. This was mainly because of Argentina’s forward players who did not score a single goal.
Torres's 106th-minute goal gave Spain the lead; no further goals were scored, and Spain emerged as the new champion. A scuffle broke out between the Argentine and Spanish players after the match, but teammates intervened to defuse the situation.
