The Prime Minister's message, issued through the Press Information Bureau and posted on X, framed the result as a spur for grassroots participation in the sport.

In his statement, Modi said the team had "played excellently through the tournament" and that the win "will encourage more youngsters to play football in the coming times," according to the message released by the Press Information Bureau on June 7.
