Worrying news indeed for fans of Brazil in the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026 tournament. Could Neymar Jr., one of the best footballers in the world today, be out of action for Brazil’s second match in Group C against Haiti? Medical test results on Monday have not indicated anything close to that.

According to a report in the Brazilian daily O Globo, Neymar at 34 years has suffered grade two strain in the right calf muscle. Scans were performed on Monday to examine his condition and find out how fit he is. According to medical experts, his fitness levels have progressed quite well; however, they still haven’t reached a level where he can play.

The player is closely monitored by a panel of doctors of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). At the moment, Neymar is restricted to light weights training inside the gym. Doctors reveal that he hasn't undertaken on-field training or ball exercises yet. The medical team does not want to make his injury worse by rushing.
