On the issue of release of eight former naval officers on death row in Qatar, Jaiswal said, "As you are aware, all the eight Indians involved in the Al Dahra Global case have been released. Seven of them have returned to India. The eighth Indian citizen has to complete some formalities. Once these are completed, he will also return."

A spokesman for the External Affairs Ministry announced the return of Indian military personnel stationed in the Maldives, saying, "The first team of technical personnel to operate the modern light helicopter has reached Maldives." The people who are currently operating it will be replaced by it.
