The Elite Group B match of Ranji Trophy 2023-24 was played between Uttar Pradesh and 41-time champion Mumbai. In this match played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh created the biggest upset of this season by defeating Mumbai under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane by two wickets. UP has achieved this feat thanks to the half-century innings of Aryan Juyal's 76 runs and Karan Sharma's unbeaten 67 runs.

Uttar Pradesh, which came out to chase 195 runs, had a bad start and lost two wickets at the score of 16. After wickets fell at regular intervals, Aryan Juyal stood firmly holding one end. Juyal and Karan took over the innings by making a partnership of 104 runs for the third wicket. Juyal was LBW by Kotian on the fourth ball of the 34th over. He hit 10 fours and one six in his innings of 76 runs.

Akshdeep Nath was out after scoring 28 runs. Six batsmen could not even reach double figures. Whereas Karan Sharma hit five fours and two sixes in his unbeaten innings of 67 runs and helped the team score 195 for eight wickets in 69.5 overs and win by two wickets.

Tanush Kotian took five wickets for 58 runs for Mumbai. Shams Mulani, Royston Dias and Mohit Awasthi dismissed one batsman each. Earlier on the last day, the Mumbai team was reduced to 320 runs in the second innings while playing ahead of 303 runs for eight wickets. Uttar Pradesh had scored 324 runs in the first innings. Mumbai could score only 198 runs in the first innings.
