New Instagram Update Lets Teens Choose From Six Unique App Icons
Instagram: Instagram has launched a new personalization feature for its teen users, allowing them to customize the app's icon to their liking. This update is rolling out worldwide and will reach all teen accounts over the next few weeks.
Instagram introduced a new and playful feature for its teen users (teen accounts). It enables users to personalize the Instagram icon on their phones. According to the company, this feature will enable young people to make the app more expressive and personal.
This Instagram refresh introduces a total of six unique visual styles, such as fire, floral, chrome, cosmic, and slime designs. These icons were designed by world-famous illustrator Carlos Oliveiras Colom and Instagram's internal design team.
How to Change Instagram's Icon
- If you have a Teen Account, you can easily use this feature.
- Tap the Instagram logo at the top of the app.
- You'll see a menu where you can choose from different designs.
- After selecting your favorite icon, it will appear on your phone's home screen.
According to the company, this update is a step towards making Instagram a more creative and safe platform for young users. This feature allows users to express their personality and mood on their phone's home screen. In recent years, Instagram has been focusing on exclusive settings and privacy tools for teen accounts, such as screen time reminders, content controls, and limits on sensitive posts.
Interestingly, in 2020, for Instagram's 10th anniversary, the company briefly introduced the icon change feature. However, it was temporary. This time, the company has made it permanent and exclusive to teen accounts.
