Prime Minister Modi performed the Mahapuja and consecration of the spire of the Somnath Temple during the Amrit Mahotsav. He criticized governments for neglecting the nation's self-respect and stated that no power can bend India.
While the celebrations for the 75th anniversary of the Somnath Temple were going on, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the one conducting Amrit Mahotsav. Modi conducted Mahapuja and then laid the spire of the temple with water from 11 sacred sites. Prime Minister Narendra Modi pointed out how the post-independence government had ignored the symbols of India’s honor, and he mentioned Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who served as India’s first prime minister.
The renovation of the Somnath Temple was not the only instance of such an attitude. Mentioning the Pokhran nuclear tests conducted by India, Prime Minister Modi pointed out that no other nation will be able to make India bend.
