NEET Crisis: Families of Students Who Died Urge Transparent Exams, Swift Justice and Tough Action Against Paper Leak Mafia

Please note that several students died after the cancellation of the NEET exam on May 3, after the announcement of the re-examination of NEET due to paper leak allegations.

Prashant Kumar Patel, father of 17-year-old Surat student Kahaan Patel, who committed suicide due to the paper leak, has supported the amendment bill being introduced by the Central Government to further strengthen the anti-paper leak law.

He said that speedy investigations, fast-track courts, and strict punishment are essential to restore confidence in the examination system. If these measures are implemented effectively, public trust in the justice system will increase.

Geeta Devi, mother of Chanchal, a student from Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh, says that she saw her daughter working hard day and night. The paper leak and the irregularities that occurred during the re-examination deeply traumatized her, which she could not bear.

Father Amarjeet says that if the examination system had been fair and trustworthy, perhaps his daughter would be with him today. They urge that the government's new announcements be strictly implemented so that no other family has to endure this suffering.

Dr. Bansingh Maurya, father of Avantika Maurya, who is preparing for NEET in Indore, says that the protest is over, and now students should focus diligently on their studies while also striving for other opportunities. Emotionally, he said that he has lost his daughter, and no other parent should suffer this pain.

Krishna Kumar Chaturvedi, father of Akanksha Chaturvedi from Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, considers the students' protest at Jantar Mantar a decisive step. He says that the pain of losing his daughter will never go away, but now he hopes that strict action will be taken against the culprits and the examination system will be improved.

He said that he had taken a loan to fulfill his dream of making his daughter a doctor, and he wants to ensure that no other family's dream is shattered in this way.

Babita, the sister of Pradeep Mahich, a resident of Gudhagaudji in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district, says the government must ensure that no paper leaks occur in the future. She believes the Education Minister should have resigned earlier.

The family sold their land to fund Pradeep's preparation, and this was his third attempt. They say the most important thing now is to restore confidence in the examination system so that no student's morale is broken.

Ranjit, a railway employee from Nalanda, Bihar, who lives in Aishbagh, Lucknow, still becomes emotional remembering his 17-year-old daughter, Shivani. After her death, he even left his government accommodation. He says that no matter who resigns or the government changes, his daughter will not return. The wounds he has suffered will never heal.

Harita, the 20-year-old daughter of Surla Satish Rao Naidu, a resident of Aadawal in Chhattisgarh's Bastar district, committed suicide by hanging herself on July 17th. Amidst the preparations for the thirteenth day, her Surla said that our daughter will not return now, but if, after this incident, the examination system becomes truly transparent and such a thirteenth day does not happen in any other house, then this will be a true tribute to the daughter.
