New Delhi, Aug 1 — The Rekha Gupta government is set to roll out its flagship Delhi Lakshmi Yojana on Saturday, under which eligible women will receive monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500.
The launch marks one of the government’s key welfare initiatives aimed at strengthening financial support for women from economically weaker households across the national capital. The entire application process will be conducted through a dedicated online portal to enable easy registration and faster processing.
For implementation of the scheme, the Delhi government has allocated Rs 5,110 crore in its 2026-27 Budget. Officials estimate that more than 17 lakh women across Delhi are expected to benefit once the programme is fully operational.
