Dedicated Freight Corridor sets record, operates 391 trains in January 2025
Indian Railways: The Railway Ministry said that in January 2025, the Dedicated Freight (DFC) corridor operated 391 trains, including 209 on the Eastern Corridor and 182 on the Western. This achievement reflects the increasing role and efficiency of DFC in freight transportation.
The Railway Ministry, in a statement, revealed that the Dedicated Freight (DFC) corridor saw a record in January in terms of operations in terms of freight trains. As per the ministry, it sets a new benchmark for India's transportation and logistics capabilities.
The ministry further added that during these three years, an average of 209 trains moved through the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) and 182 trains moved through the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC).
In a statement, the Railway Ministry stated that such an achievement attests to the increased use of DFC for effective and unobstructed haulage of goods and re-affirms its role as a backbone for the development of industries and the economy.
