Guwahati, July 31 — Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani has contributed Rs 11 crore to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support relief and rehabilitation efforts for people affected by the severe floods that have impacted several parts of the state, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Friday.
In a post on X, Sarma expressed gratitude to the industrialist for extending assistance at a time when Assam is confronting one of its most challenging flood situations in recent years. He said he was “heartened” to learn that Adani had made an online contribution of Rs 11 crore to strengthen the state’s ongoing relief operations for flood-affected families.
The Chief Minister also noted what he described as Adani’s quiet and compassionate approach to philanthropy, observing that the contribution had been made without seeking public attention. Apart from the financial assistance, Sarma said Adani is mobilising additional resources to support relief work for thousands of affected families on the ground.
