MakeMyTrip announced a partnership with OpenAI on Wednesday, which will help the company use more artificial intelligence in travel planning and booking. As a result of the partnership, the APIs provided by OpenAI will be integrated into the company’s app, and this will help the company introduce new features in its trip planning assistant, Myra. The company said that the new features will help the company solve conversational travel queries and offer structured booking options for flights and other services. MakeMyTrip also mentioned the growing popularity of Myra across multiple languages and tier-2 cities.
According to a press release by the online travel company, the initiative seeks to address high-intent travel queries to enable users to start planning trips through conversation. As part of the partnership, MakeMyTrip has integrated OpenAI's APIs into its app. These APIs will support new AI-driven functions in its trip planning assistant, Myra, helping travelers convert conversation-based ideas into booking options on the platform.
MakeMyTrip stated that this integration will enable the company to react more quickly to changing travel intent by providing structured, transaction-ready options for flights, hotels, and other related services. It further stated that this represents a shift from relying solely on passive search traffic to a more direct role in AI-led discovery.
