Isuzu has finally launched the electric model of its popular pick-up truck D-Max. The car was initially unveiled at the 45th Bangkok Motor Show in Thailand last year in March, and now its production model has been released. The car appears to be much like the petrol-diesel model. But it has all-electric technology inside. Its production in Thailand has been initiated.

In addition to this, Isuzu has also launched the D-Max EV in Europe and the UK. The model to be produced for Europe will be a left-hand drive model and will be produced in Thailand itself. Its delivery will begin in the third quarter of 2025. Meanwhile, production of the right-hand drive model will begin in late 2024, and its sale in the UK will begin in 2026. It will be launched in other countries based on demand. This electric pick-up was also introduced in the 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show (CV Show), NEC Center in Birmingham.

The D-Max EV looks similar to the diesel version from the outside. However, it also has some special changes like blue highlights on the dual-slat front grille, blue accents in the headlights and sporty black alloy wheels. Currently this vehicle is available only in a dual-cab version.

Its interior also has almost the same setup as found in the diesel model. It gets an all-black cabin, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 7-inch digital driver display, 8-speaker audio system, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, heated front seats, dual zone climate control and parking sensors. Apart from this, an advanced driver assistance system has also been added to it, although not much information has been given about it yet.

The D-Max EV has a 66.9 kWh battery, which gives a range of 263 km (WLTP) on a single charge. It can be charged from 20 percent to 80 percent in just less than an hour with a 50 kW DC fast charger. At the same time, it takes about 10 hours to charge it from 0 to 100 percent with an 11 kW AC home charger.

This vehicle has a dual-motor setup - one motor at the front and one at the rear. Overall, this setup produces 188 bhp of power and 325Nm of torque. Isuzu claims that this pickup truck can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 10.1 seconds and its top speed is more than 125 kmph.

Isuzu D-Max is already known for its off-roading potential. And the company has retained the same power in the EV version as well. This vehicle comes with a permanent 4×4 drivetrain. It has a ground clearance of 210 mm and can run in water up to 600 mm depth. Its approach angle is 30.5 degrees and departure angle is 24.2 degrees, which makes it completely ready for off-roading.
