On the third day of the fourth Test match between India and England at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi, Team India was all out for 307 runs until lunch. By the end of the second day's play, India had amassed 219 runs in the first innings while taking seven wickets in 73 overs. Dhruv Jurel, the wicket-keeper batsman, had a fantastic inning on the third day, scoring 90 runs until lunch. 353 runs had been scored by England in the first innings. This indicates that, after the first innings, the England team has a lead of 46 runs.

India's batting began the third day with 219 runs for 7 wickets. Kuldeep Yadav claimed India's eighth wicket at a score of 253. Kuldeep became Anderson's victim after scoring 28 runs in 131 balls. After this Shoaib Bashir made Akashdeep his fifth victim. Akashdeep (9) was out on the score of 293. After this Dhruv Jurel was out after scoring 90 runs. He missed his first Test century. However, he took India's score beyond 300.

Earlier, the second day started with England batting. England started playing at 302 runs for seven wickets. But, they could not do anything special and the team lost the remaining three wickets in adding only 51 runs. Ravindra Jadeja took all three wickets. In this way, England's first innings was reduced to 353 runs. In response to this, the Indian team did not have a good start and the first blow to India at the score of four was given by James Anderson in the form of captain Rohit Sharma (2).

After this, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill carried the innings forward. India had lost one wicket and scored 34 runs by the second day's lunch break. Jaiswal and Gill batted exceptionally well, combining for a half-century for the second wicket. However, India suffered its second setback at 86. Shubhman Gill was sent to the pavilion by Shoaib Bashir after being kicked out of LBW. Gill amassed 38 runs.

Yashasvi achieved his third half-century in Test cricket in the meantime. However, there was a rush of wickets following this. With a score of 112. India was dealt a third blow. Shoaib Bashir gave Rajat Patidar, who had been struggling mightily in this series, out of the game. Ravindra Jadeja also began to walk shortly after. Shoaib Bashir got him caught out by Pop. Jadeja scored 12 runs.

Till tea time, India scored 131 runs after losing four wickets in its first innings. After tea, India got its fifth blow. Shoaib Bashir achieved great success this time by bowling Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal scored 73 runs in 117 balls with the help of eight fours and one six. Soon after this Sarfaraz Khan also left. Joe Root took an excellent catch at slip off Tom Hartley's ball. He could score 14 runs.

Tom Hartley gave another success to England and sent Ravichandran Ashwin out LBW to the pavilion. After this wicket, India's remaining hope also ended. However, after this, Dhruv Jurel and Kuldeep Yadav did not allow any other wicket for India to fall. Jurel is playing on 30 runs on 58 balls and Kuldeep is playing on 17 runs on 72 balls. By the end of the second day's play, both had added 42 runs on 106 balls for the 8th wicket.
