Modi Flags UCC and One Nation-One Election as BJP’s ‘Unfinished Agendas’
On the BJP's 47th foundation day, Prime Minister Modi described the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and "One Nation-One Election" as the party's unfinished agendas, on which positive progress is being made.
PM Narendra Modi on Monday stated that the UCC and One Nation-One Election are two pending achievements of the BJP. There has been a serious discussion over these two issues, and considerable progress has been made on both fronts.
Addressing the BJP's 47th Foundation Day through virtual means, the Prime Minister said that the party initiated the idea of the reservation of women in 1994. The BJP-led government has committed itself to passing the Women’s Reservation Bill during the general elections of 2029.
The reservation of 33 percent quota for women will be implemented in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies through this bill. Criticizing the Congress, he stated that BJP activists had suffered greatly like they did during the Emergency regime of Congress.

Many BJP workers have even sacrificed their lives, as seen in states like Bengal and Kerala, where violence has become a political culture. He said, "Our mission continues. Serious discussions are underway in the country on the Uniform Civil Code, 'One Country, One Election,' and other issues, and we are moving forward in a positive direction on these issues."
The Prime Minister said that the BJP is making sincere efforts to meet every challenge. He said, "The abolition of hundreds of black laws from the British era, the construction of a new Parliament building, 10 percent reservation for the poor among the general category, the ban on triple talaq, the Citizenship Amendment Act, and the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, among countless other achievements, are the results of the BJP's sincere efforts."
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated party workers on the BJP's foundation day and called the party the world's largest political party. In a post on Instagram, he said, "I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all party workers on the foundation day of the BJP. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP has today become the largest political party in the world.
BJP National President Nitin Naveen called upon party workers and leaders to connect with people across the country with complete dedication and loyalty and fulfill Prime Minister Modi's resolve of a 'developed India' by 2047. He addressed a program at the party headquarters in New Delhi on the occasion of the BJP's foundation day.
According to ANI, Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated the BJP workers on its foundation day and emphasized the core mantra of 'Nation first, party next, and self last.' In a post on Instagram, Shah highlighted the party's achievements in securing the country's borders and promoting the vibrant spirit of Indian culture.
