Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fast bowler Mohammed Shami has created a big record. He has become the only bowler to take a wicket with the first ball of the Indian Premier League (IPL) innings five times. The next players to have achieved the feat three times each are Praveen Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Trent Boult, Lasith Malinga, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ashok Dinda, and Pat Cummins.

In the match played on Wednesday at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, LSG lost the toss and chose to bat. However, the team was bowled out for 141 runs in 18.4 overs. Captain Rishabh Pant got out for 7 on the score of 19. Then, Mitchell Marsh shared a 29-run partnership for the second wicket with Aiden Markram.
