Google has announced a strategic partnership with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to increase access to quality education across India. The partnership aims to empower students, teachers, and parents by providing engaging and accessible educational content.

YouTube Learning Director of Product Management Jonathan Katzman said in a Google blog post, "Learning has always been at the core of YouTube. In India, where accessible education is key to unlocking the country's potential, YouTube can play an important role in making learning content more accessible through innovative partnerships, tools, and resources.

Under this initiative, NCERT will launch several YouTube channels in the next few months. These will cover students starting from class 1 up to class 12. These channels will provide the students with educational content in as many as 29 Indian languages, including Indian Sign Language for different categories of students.

It has also collaborated with the National Program on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) to launch certified courses on YouTube. The aim of the partnership is to provide students with courses on various subjects, from science and literature to sports, psychology, and rocket science.

Katzman said, 'This initiative opens up a way for anyone outside the IIT system to take courses on NPTEL's YouTube channel and then complete online certification on the NPTEL-SWAYAM portal and receive a certificate from IIT.' He said more courses will be launched in the coming months.

He further said, 'Using AI, we identify concepts covered in the video and can provide definitions from the web of those concepts. Which are in subjects like biology, physics, and chemistry. We also present definitions and images from Google's Knowledge Graph based on the video transcript and other related video metadata.'

This partnership between YouTube and NCERT is obviously expected to help students. Because today YouTube is used extensively for studies.
