Air fares doubled before Dussehra-Diwali, Chhath; tickets became costlier by up to 80%
Air Fare: There is no one reason behind the increase in air fares, but many factors are working together, which together have made air travel expensive.

Festival season is going to begin in the nation with Ganesh Utsav. Then citizens will go towards their homes in big numbers to enjoy the festivals of Navratri, Dussehra and Diwali. Due to the opening of bookings in daily trains, a situation of waiting or repentance has arisen. In such a scenario, commuters are left with the choice of air travel except for bus.
This year, the prices of main air routes have also hit the sky. In comparison to last year, the rates of air tickets have gone up from 50 percent to 80 percent. On certain routes, this percentage has nearly doubled. The fare situation is such that Dussehra is one and a half months ahead and Diwali is two months ahead.
According to data from travel agents and online portals, a huge jump in air fares is being seen. Air fares have doubled on the busiest routes like Mumbai-Delhi, Delhi-Kolkata, and Bengaluru-Kolkata. Fares from Mumbai to Dehradun have reached 14 to 15 thousand, Delhi to Kolkata fares 9 to 12 thousand, Mumbai to Delhi fares 10 to 12 thousand, Mumbai to Jaipur fares 7 to 10 thousand and Bengaluru to Kolkata fares 10 to 11 thousand and Hyderabad to Delhi fares have reached 8 thousand to 10 thousand. Fares of flights from Bengaluru to Lucknow have also reached Rs 17,930 and Rs 17,333. Fares of flights from Mumbai to Lucknow have also reached 16 thousand to 18 thousand.
Experts believe that there is no single reason behind the increase in air fares, but many factors are working together, which together have made air travel expensive. There is a shortage of airplanes these days. Many Indian airlines have placed orders for new aircrafts, but their delivery is getting delayed. Due to problems in the global supply chain and problems in certain types of engines, companies are not able to get new aircrafts on time. Therefore, there are fewer aircrafts for domestic flights, but there are more passengers. Apart from this, there has been an increase of about 5 percent in the fuel of the aircraft in the last one year. In such a situation, the cost of the airline has increased. Therefore, its burden is being put on the passenger fare.
Apart from all this, this year a long weekend is also coming along with the festivals. After Durga Puja in Navratri, there are holidays around Gandhi Jayanti and Diwali. In such a situation, people are not only planning to go home, but also to travel. Due to this, a huge increase in the number of passengers is being seen. The number of passengers is increasing rapidly. Therefore, airline companies have increased their demand further. However, in view of the festive season, additional flights have not been announced by the airline companies. Due to this, there is a possibility of further increase in fares. If additional flights are announced then fares may come down.
