Daryl Mitchell Century Levels Series as New Zealand Beat India by 7 Wickets
IND vs NZ 2nd ODI Highlights: India suffered a seven-wicket defeat against New Zealand in the second ODI. Captain Shubman Gill directly blamed his bowlers for their failure to take wickets in the middle overs.
Daryl Mitchell's century powered New Zealand to a resounding seven-wicket victory in the second ODI against India. With this, the visiting team has leveled the three-match series 1-1. Indian captain Shubman Gill looked extremely disappointed after the defeat. He blamed his bowlers for failing to take wickets in the middle overs and for the large partnership between Young and Mitchell. He also cited fielding errors as a reason for the defeat.
After the match, Shubman Gill said, "We couldn't take any wickets in the middle overs. When you have five fielders in and you don't take wickets in the middle overs, it becomes very difficult. Even if we had scored 15-20 more runs, and you don't take wickets in the middle overs, it would have been very difficult to defend the target."
Regarding India's innings, he said, "On this kind of wicket, as soon as a partnership is formed, the set batsman has to score big, as it's not easy for the new batsman to score freely. However, in the end, we set a good target on the board."
