An atmosphere of optimism is visible even before the implementation of the new labor code in the country. The majority of workers think that the conditions in the workplace will improve after the implementation of the new labor law. The working hours will be fixed, the salaries will be transparent, and the social security will increase. A vast survey indicates that optimism is growing at the grassroots level for the implementation of the labor reforms.

This survey has been conducted by the VV Giri National Labor Institute, which is located in Noida. As per the survey, about 60% of the workers think that the new labor code will bring an improvement in their working conditions. 63% of the workers think that their working hours will be regulated better under the new labor code. This institute works under the Ministry of Labor and Employment. The survey interviewed 5,720 workers and 715 employers.

64% of workers surveyed said the new system would increase transparency in wage payments. 54% are confident that salaries will be paid on time. Positive signs were also seen regarding income security. 68% of workers expressed hope for easier access to services through e-shram and the Welfare Board. A significant number of workers believe that the digital system will simplify the complaint and registration process.
