Nitish Reddy, Sunrisers Hyderabad, IPL 2025: Nitish said before the match against KKR, “I have never set my personal goals. I have played for India. Now I am playing in the IPL, so the only unfinished work is to win the trophy.'

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy feels winning this season's title is the last remaining task left to achieve by this franchise. The Sunrisers team, who created several new records in terms of batting last season, were runners-up last season. The heartbreaking defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders in the title-deciding game crushed their title-winning dreams. But, Sunrisers' early performance in IPL 2025 The team hasn't been great and ranks 8th in the table after losing its last two matches. They are facing Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Thursday.
Nitish said on JioHotstar's show 'Zen Bold', "I never set my personal goals. I have played for India. Now playing in the IPL, the only unfinished task is to win the trophy. We have created history with some historical records, but winning the IPL title is our only aim."
Nitish has progressed a lot in his cricket career since getting a chance in the IPL. He has also made his debut in T20 and Test formats for India. He said, "I am very happy with whatever performance I have given so far while playing for India and IPL. I want to continue performing like this. People have now started recognizing me and my performance is also praised. This is a big change that I have felt compared to before."
Nitish, however, does not want to let success overwhelm him. He said, "Going forward, I want to play with the same passion and consistency, whether it is playing for my franchise or for the country. I am completely focused on maintaining my love for the game of cricket." The 21-year-old player praised Pat Cummins' captaincy and described him as a calm captain. He said, "He is a very calm and stable leader. The way he handles pressure is amazing. When you see your captain managing everything so easily, the whole team gets confidence. He is fantastic as a captain, and I really enjoy playing under his leadership."
Talking about Sunrisers Hyderabad's stormy batting, he said, "I would rate my team very highly. Last year was incredible for us, and we want to repeat that success. Our strategy is simple - to play without any pressure, score as many runs as possible in the powerplay, and maintain that rhythm till the later overs. Be it the top order or the middle order, everyone has to play their role. We are looking forward to another great season.” Reddy, on the other hand, called Kagiso Rabada the toughest bowler in the IPL and said that facing him was a tough challenge.
He said, “I think I have started understanding the bowlers better now. Just like they analyze my game, I also analyze them. My method will remain the same, but I will adapt to the situations as needed. I find facing Kagiso Rabada particularly challenging. When we played against Punjab Kings, he was very effective on that wicket, and it was a tough challenge for me to face him there.”
