Auto Exports Jump Sharply in November, Three-Wheeler Shipments Nearly Double

Record Sales: Passenger vehicles were sold in November this year, an increase of 18.7% compared to November last year. Exports of passenger, two-wheeler, and three-wheeler vehicles also increased by 96.3% last month. Wholesale sales of two-wheelers also increased by 21% in November to an all-time high of 19,44,475 units.

Despite the festive season, the rising demand has been contributing to an increase in wholesale outlet deliveries, which today recorded a record growth of 18.7% with a total of 4,12,405 passenger vehicles sold in the country for the month of November 2025. The figure compares with a total of 3,47,522 passenger vehicles sold in November last year. Maruti Suzuki India, the country's leading car producer, sold a total of 1,70,971 passenger cars during November of last year, which is 21% higher than the 141,312 passenger cars sold in November 2024, as reported by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

Wholesales of Mahindra & Mahindra increased by 22% to 56,336 units compared to 46,222 units. Hyundai Motor India sold 50,340 passenger vehicles during this period, a four% increase year-on-year. SIAM Director General Rajesh Menon said, "The domestic automotive industry maintained its sales momentum in November, supported by strong demand even after the festive season and the government's GST reforms. Passenger vehicles, two-wheelers, and three-wheelers recorded their highest-ever sales in November. This growth is expected to continue in 2026, driven by continued supportive policy reforms and improved market sentiment."

Wholesale sales of two-wheelers also increased by 21% to an all-time high of 19,44,475 units in November. In the same period a year ago, two-wheeler sales were 16,04,749. Scooter sales increased by 29% to 735,753 units from 568,580 units. Motorcycle sales increased by 17.5% to 1163,751 units last month. Moped sales declined by 2% year-on-year to a total of 44,971 units. Three-wheeler sales increased by 21% year-on-year to a record 71,999 units.

Exports of passenger, two-wheeler, and three-wheeler vehicles increased by 96.3% last month. Passenger vehicle exports increased by 39.8% year-on-year to 84,646 units. Car exports increased by 18.3% to 40,519 units. Two-wheeler exports increased by 30.1% to 471,012 units. Exports of three-wheelers increased by 96.3 per cent to 46,013 units.
