Giving information in a report, WhatsApp said that in November last year, 71 lakh accounts were banned in India. The company gave this information on Monday under IT Rules 2021. It said that the company took this action between November 1 and 30. Of these, more than 19 lakh accounts were blocked by the company even before receiving any complaint.

The messaging platform has more than 50 crore users in the country. The company has said that in this report, along with the complaints of the users, the action taken on them and the steps taken by the company itself are given.

In November, a record 8841 complaints were received from across the country and action was taken on about six. During this period, Meta removed 1 crore 83 lahks objectionable content on Facebook and 47 lakh objectionable content on Instagram. Between November 1 and 30, Facebook received 21,149 reports through the Indian complaint mechanism.
