The country's major six two-wheeler organizations cumulatively sold as many as 14.1 lakh units in the country in April. These account for nearly 95 percent of India's total two-wheeler sales. According to media reports, Yes Securities report said that after talking to channel partners, it has come to light that the demand for two-wheelers was less than expected during the wedding season in North and Central India and festivals in West India. However, there has been some recovery from states like UP and Bihar. Demand was under pressure in these states due to Malmas and already high sales in the last 2–3 months.
Delhi-based Hero MotoCorp suffered the biggest setback in April. The company's sales fell 43 percent to 3,05,406 units compared to last year. This is the company's biggest monthly decline in recent years. One of the reasons for this decline was that the company had stopped production at its Dharuhera, Gurugram, Haridwar and Neemrana plants from April 17 to 19. Its purpose was to fix the supply chain and complete the necessary maintenance work. The company is expecting production to be normal from May 2025.
