Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor will be launched next month, problems for Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter are going to increase
The carmaker recently trademarked the Urban Cruiser Taisor nameplate in India which is expected to be the name of the upcoming SUV. The Maruti Frontex is based on the carmaker's best-selling model, the Baleno. The front looks to be a bolder version of the hatchback with styling and features inspired by the SUV launched last year.

Toyota Motor is all set to launch its first model this year with another rebadged Maruti car. Japanese auto giant Maruti Suzuki will introduce a new SUV based on the Fronx.
The nameplate Urban Cruiser Taisor, which is expected to be the name of the upcoming SUV, was recently trademarked in India by the automaker. In the Indian market, the company plans to launch it on April 3 and will face off against Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, and Hyundai Exter.
The carmaker's best-selling model, the Baleno, serves as the basis for the Maruti Frontex. The front appears to be a more aggressive take on the hatchback, with features and styling derived from the SUV that was introduced the previous year. Toyota is anticipated to keep the majority of the design elements, barring modifications to the logo and name badge. The grille, bumper, and alloy design of the urban cruiser Taser are anticipated to differ slightly from the front.
The interior of the urban cruiser Tajer will also be similar to the Forex. The Maruti SUV has features like a 9-inch infotainment screen, 360-degree camera and Head-up Display (HuD). The feature list offers many advanced features like wireless charging, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a leatherette steering wheel. Talking about safety features, the Ford can come with 6 airbags, ABD with EBD, ESP, hill assist and a rear parking sensor.
For the urban cruiser Taser, Toyota is going to utilise a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine in addition to the 1.0-litre BoosterJet Tuburo petrol engine. Additionally, the turbo unit has a peak torque of 147 Nm and a power output of 99 bhp.
The 1.2-litre engine produces 88 bhp of power and is equipped with Maruti's smart hybrid system. It is anticipated that Toyota will provide a hybrid Taser variant at least once. A 6-speed torque converter, 5-speed AMT, or 5-speed manual will handle the gearbox duties.
The urban cruiser Tasar will become the fourth Maruti car to be rebadged by Toyota Motor in India. Earlier, Toyota sold an Urban Cruiser SUV based on the Maruti Brezza. Apart from this, the company sells Maruti's Ertiga MPV as Rumion. Toyota's longest-running rebadged Maruti car is the Glanza, which is based on the Baleno hatchback.
