This fast bowler entered the Indian team for the first time against Delhi Capitals
Kranti Goud: Kranti made her name by taking 4 wickets against Delhi Capitals, and now she has been included in the Indian team for the first time.

Fast bowling all-rounder Kranti Goud has replaced injured all-rounder Kashvi Gautam in the Indian side participating in the ongoing Women's ODI Tri-Series in Colombo. Kashvi was forced to leave the field after bowling a mere 5 overs in India's three-wicket defeat against South Africa in the first match of the tri-series played on a Sunday at the R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium. Kashvi didn't pick a single wicket in the first three India matches.
Kranti has replaced Kashvi in the side as the latter is expected to suffer a calf, hamstring or a foot injury. Kranti departed for Colombo on Tuesday morning and has joined the Indian side as of now. Kashvee's nature of injury will only be confirmed when she comes back to India after Colombo and as for the early signs, her participation in the England tour would be questionable.
Kranti was on Monday evening given the green signal by the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) medical team in Bengaluru to join the Indian team after she contracted chicken pox while playing in the Senior Women's Multi-Day Challenger Trophy in Dehradun last month. Kranti recently impressed while playing for UP Warriors in the Women's Premier League. She took six wickets in eight matches, including a four-wicket haul against Delhi Capitals. Apart from her WPL performances, Kranti has been a consistent performer in domestic cricket as well. Playing for Madhya Pradesh in the Senior Women's ODI Trophy, she took 15 wickets in nine innings.
In the 2025 Women's Premier League (WPL), Kranti was one of the most prolific uncapped Indian players in action, taking six wickets in eight matches for UP Warriors at an economy rate of 9.45. Kranti, who hails from Gaura, a village in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh, was in a stellar form when she took 4-25 against Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, helping UP Warriors register their first win of the season.
The match against South Africa on Wednesday in the tri-series is crucial to see how the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side, which has four points from three matches, responds on the field after the loss to Sri Lanka. The focus will also be on whether Kranti gets an opportunity to make her international debut immediately, especially considering that India already have another experienced pace-bowling allrounder in Amanjot Kaur.
