Sam Altman calls OpenAI's new AI Agent as a superpower
Deep Research: This launch has come at a time when the Chinese AI model, DeepSeek, is in the news due to its advanced technology and low cost. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman also praised DeepSeek but promised that OpenAI is going to bring an even better model.
Last week OpenAI launched the operator and now they have launched its next AI agent Deep Research. Talking about the agent, it is designed to do detailed research through its chatbot ChatGPT. According to OpenAI, this agent is powered by OpenAI o3 optimized for web browsing and Python analysis and deeply browses text, images, and PDFs on the Internet with intelligent reasoning.
OpenAI explained in its blog post, "Deep Research is designed for those who do deep knowledge work in fields such as finance, science, policy and engineering and who need comprehensive and reliable research." Moreover, it is also useful for consumers who want highly personalized shopping recommendations and for whom careful research is necessary.
OpenAI VP Engineer Srinivas Narayanan explains that this new model is "a new way to perform complex knowledge tasks using AI". He said that deep research is like getting advice from an expert. It aims to save hours of research done by humans and minimize the tasks.
