Mukesh Choudhary’s Emotional Tribute: CSK Pacer Dedicates Wicket to Late Mother in IPL 2026 Clash
Mukesh Chaudhary: All eyes were on Chennai bowler Mukesh Chaudhary in the MI vs. CSK match, as he had returned to the team just a day earlier after performing his mother's last rites. When Mukesh took the wicket of Quinton de Kock in this match, he didn't celebrate. Meanwhile, after the match, captain Ruturaj saluted him and dedicated the victory to him.
The 33rd IPL 2026 game was that of MI vs CSK on Thursday night in the Wankhede stadium, Mumbai. It was a very interesting event as CSK team player, Mukesh Chaudhary, played only a day after performing the last rituals of his mother. In the game where Mukesh Chaudhary sent Quinton de Kock's stumps tumbling, there was no excitement, loud cheers or celebrations. In stead, Mukesh remained standing in the middle of the ground, gazed upward and raised one finger saying quietly, "Mom, I am playing for you."
It was quite an humble act of his part, especially from a man whose heart must have been filled with sadness, yet he played on. Mukesh performed his mother's last rites in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, and returned to his team duty the very next day. Mukesh's mother passed away on Tuesday after a prolonged illness. Despite this, he returned to the CSK team before the match against Mumbai Indians and was included in the playing eleven.
