India Beat Zimbabwe by 7 Wickets in 1st T20I as Vaibhav Suryavanshi Smashes Record Fifty
Zimbabwe vs India, 1st T20: Batting first after losing the toss, Zimbabwe scored 125 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the Indian team chased down the target, scoring 126 runs for the loss of three wickets in 13.2 overs to win the match.
The first game of the three-match T20 series played between India and Zimbabwe took place at the Harare Sports Club. The Indian team managed to win with seven wickets thanks to outstanding performance of fast bowlers Mayank Yadav and Prince Yadav along with a quick fifty by young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi. For Shreyas Iyer, this became the first win as a captain.
Zimbabwe started batting having lost the toss and scored 125/7 in their 20 overs. Brian Bennett was dismissed on zero on the first delivery. Ben Curran made 19 runs together with Dion Myers at the second wicket position. However, Zimbabwe lost four more wickets by the moment when their total score was 32.
Ryan Burl came to bat with Wesley Madhevere (39) in order to make 32 runs for the fifth wicket, reaching 64. Further, Madhevere and Tadiwanashe Marumani made 57 runs from 37 balls at the sixth wicket position, helping the team cross the 100-run mark.
