When Sheikh Hasina was coming towards India after being ousted from power in Bangladesh, Indian security agencies were prepared for any contingency. Sources said that the Indian Air Force radars were actively monitoring the airspace over Bangladesh and they detected a plane coming towards India around 3 pm.

The plane was allowed to come inside India, as the air defense personnel knew who was inside the plane. Sources said two Rafale fighter jets of the 101 Squadron were flying over Bihar and Jharkhand from Hashimara airbase in Bengal to provide security to the aircraft.

The aircraft was on its flight path and was being monitored by agencies on the ground. There was also constant communication with top Indian security officials. Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary and Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi were monitoring the situation very closely, sources said.

A top-level meeting of top security officials was also held, which was attended by General Dwivedi, the head of the intelligence agency, and Chief of Integrated Defense Staff Lieutenant General Johnson Philip Matthew. As soon as Hasina's plane landed at Hindon airbase, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval welcomed her and held a meeting with her for an hour.
