Now a conspiracy to overturn trains in Kanpur and Bathinda, a five kg gas cylinder was placed on the loop line
An attempt was made to overturn a goods train going through the loop line at Prempur railway station on the Delhi-Howrah route in Kanpur by placing an empty five kg cylinder on the track. In this case, the police have arrested 10 suspects and are interrogating them. This is the third such incident in Kanpur in the last few days. On the night of 18 September, an iron pole was placed on the Rampur-Rudrapur railway track.
Similar incidents of conspiracy to overturn trains have come to light from Kanpur, Bathinda and Khandwa in recent past in some states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. In Khandwa, 10 detonators had exploded on the track through which the special army train was passing. Three railway employees have been detained in this case.
A goods train running slowly on the Delhi-Howrah route, came from loop line to the red signal towards Prayagraj at 6 am on Sunday. The loco pilot, Dev Anand Gupta, saw something kept inside on the track, which was a little ahead of the platform.
After applying emergency brakes, he got down and saw that it was a gas cylinder. A plastic sack, beer, and cold drink cans were lying outside the track. He informed the Assistant Station Superintendent of Prempur station about this.
After this, apart from RPF, GRP officials, the Police Commissioner reached and inspected the spot. The forensic team also reached. IB and ATS officials also inspected the spot. Police Commissioner Akhil Kumar said that it is being investigated whether it is someone's mischief or something else.
A goods train was coming near Bangi Nagar in Bathinda district at around 3 am on Sunday morning. During this, the loco pilot saw an object kept on the track. When he got down and looked, he saw that iron rods were kept on the track. On his information, railway officials and police reached the spot and investigated.
On the other hand, on September 18, when a special army train was passing on the railway track near Nepanagar in Burhanpur district between Khandwa-Bhusaval, an explosion took place due to the bursting of 10 detonators in the afternoon. All these detonators exploded after coming under the wheels of the special army train going from Jammu and Kashmir to South India. Railway Intelligence, ATS, NSA, and RPF are engaged in investigating this serious incident.
Three people including a railway trackman have been taken into custody and are being questioned. Let us tell you that a detonator is a device that activates the explosive. These are placed on the railway track when the train has to be stopped in an emergency. Their explosion is very mild. There is no possibility of the train getting derailed or damaged due to their explosion. Bhusaval Railway Division Manager Iti Pandey said that the purpose of placing the detonators and who all are involved in it is being investigated.
GRP has solved the case of placing an iron pole on the Rampur-Rudrapur railway track on the night of 18 September. Two thieves from Bilaspur (Rampur) were stealing the pole and taking it away. Meanwhile, when the Doon-Naini Jan Shatabdi Express arrived, they left it on the track and ran away. Both have been arrested. SP GRP Ashutosh Shukla has announced a reward of Rs 10,000 to the team. Many cases are already registered against both.
