Scorching heat: Record 1.4 crore air conditioners may be sold this year, increase up to 40%

Due to scorching heat, a record 1.4 crore air conditioners (ACs) may be sold across the country this year. Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association (CEAMA) President Sunil Vachani said record sales of ACs have been done in May. Sales may increase by 30-40 percent in summer.

According to Vachani, rising temperatures and scorching winds have made domestic air conditioners a must-have in urban areas. As the market expands, annual sales in the country are predicted to reach 14 million units, indicating significant growth in the sector. Residential air conditioner sales in India are predicted to increase to between 1 million and 11.1 million units.

Sales of cola, drinks, ice cream, and other cooling products have skyrocketed in many parts of the country as temperatures have risen dramatically. Companies such as PepsiCo India and Coca-Cola claim they have prepared their inventory in anticipation of a significant spike in demand.
