Prices revealed after the global launch of Kia EV3, know when it will enter the Indian market

Kia showcased the concept of the Kia EV3 electric SUV at the EV Day held in October 2023. The company has also announced its prices after launching its production-ready model a few days ago.

Kia EV3 will be available for sale in Korea by August 2024, after which it will also enter the European and American markets. India launch is expected in 2025. When launched, it will directly compete with the BYD Atto 3 and other similarly priced electric cars.

Talking about prices in South Korea, the entry-level variant is priced at KRW 42.08 million (around Rs 25.60 lakh at the current exchange rate). The Earth variant is priced at KRW 45.71 million (around Rs 27.80 lakh at the current exchange rate) and the top-of-the-line GT-like and Long-Range variant is priced at KRW 46.66 million (around Rs 28.37 lakh at the current exchange rate).

The design features a tiger-nose-inspired fascia with a blanked-off grille and wide air inlets in the lower bumper. It features cubicle-shaped LED headlights and L-shaped LED DRLs.

The EV3's sides feature flared wheel arches with thick black plastic cladding, as well as trapezoidal creases on the front and rear fenders.

At the back, it has a large tailboard with L-shaped LED taillamps extending at either end. Other standout features include black cladding, a roof spoiler, a shark-fin antenna, and more.

The Kia EV3's dashboard layout includes two main screens: a 12.3-inch unit for instrumentation and infotainment. It has sleek AC vents that span the width of the dashboard, as well as a well-designed two-spoke steering wheel.

In terms of features, it features a 12-inch head-up display, ambient lighting, personal AI assistant, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, wireless charger, panoramic sunroof, floating center console with cup holders, relaxation mode with streaming of videos or games on the infotainment unit while the car is charging and more.

In terms of powertrain and battery, this electric car is available with 2 battery packs- 58.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh. It comes with a front-axle-mounted electric motor that produces 201hp and 283Nm of torque. It has a claimed 0-100kph sprint time of 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 170kph. The 81.4kWh long-range variant has a claimed range of 600km WLTP cycle and the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 in 31 minutes.
