November 25th is going to be a historic day in Ramnagari. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will hoist a specially designed giant saffron flag on the top of the 161-foot-high Ram Temple. This ceremony will mark the formal completion of the construction of the temple.

The flag is 22 feet long and 11 feet wide. The flag was produced by a reputed 80-year-old company in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, that deals in parachute and flag manufacturing. The flag is made of three layers of special silk satin and parachute fabric, which can bear the strong sunlight, heavy rain, and winds with a speed of 60 km/h. It bears the symbol of the sun, the 'Om' sign, and the Kovidar tree.

The flag will be hoisted on a 42-foot-high flagpole atop the temple's main spire. This pole is mounted on a 360-degree rotating ball-bearing chamber, ensuring the flag flutters gracefully even in strong winds and will not tear. The flag hoisting will take place in 10 seconds at the press of a button, and will be visible from a distance of 3 kilometers.

Flag-maker Rakesh Metkar said, "We used silk satin fabric with an inner lining. Seven to eight skilled artisans have intricately hand-embroidered it to create a magnificent image." Company owner Kashyap Mewada added, "Our company was started by my grandfather in Dasada (North Gujarat) 80 years ago. It is a matter of pride for us to make this flag for such a sacred occasion as the Ram Temple."

The administration in Ayodhya has begun preparations in earnest. Several departments are working around the clock to ensure tight security, parking, traffic management, and the convenience of devotees. Millions of Ram devotees are expected to arrive on November 25th. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also be present at the event. Tent cities and rooms have been booked for more than 8,000 guests.
