Plan ready to settle pending cases in court, mediation campaign to start from July 1
The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Supreme Court's Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) will launch a 90-day nationwide mediation campaign from July 1 to September 30, 2025. Its objective is to settle pending cases in the courts in a quick and cost-effective manner. This campaign is to resolve various types of cases, including matrimonial, commercial, and consumer disputes.

National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Supreme Court's Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) will initiate a 90-day mediation campaign from 1st July to determine pending cases throughout the courts. The 90-day mediation campaign will continue throughout India till 30th September 2025.
NALSA's release said, "The Mediation for the Nation campaign is being launched across India to clear pending cases and convince people that mediation is a mechanism for dispute resolution that is people-friendly, cost-effective, and quick, and can save time and money as well as relationships."
The campaign aims to clear pending cases from Taluka courts to High Courts and take mediation to every corner of the country as a pro-people mode of dispute resolution.
The release said, "The 90-day Mediation for the Nation campaign has been conceptualised by NALSA and MCPC under the guidance of CJI (Chief Justice of India BR Gavai) and Justice Surya Kant, Judge of the Supreme Court and Executive Chairman of NALSA and MCPC."
The nature of pending cases eligible for mediation includes matrimonial disputes, accident claims, domestic violence, cheque bounce, commercial disputes, service matters, criminal settlement cases, consumer disputes, and eviction.
Nalsa said, 'This special campaign aims to involve all existing mediators, including those who have recently undergone 40 hours of mediation training. In this campaign, mediation settlement efforts will be made on all seven days of the week as per the convenience of all parties.'
To ensure the success of this special campaign, the mediation process can be offline, online mode, or a hybrid method to settle the cases.
