Meta Scam Ads: Reports Claim Company Earns Billions From Fraudulent Advertisements

According to a November 2025 report, based on leaked Meta documents, Meta considered that around 10% of its total yearly advertising revenue is scam and from ads related to banned products. Moreover, Meta did not prevent such advertisements.
According to one report, a December 2024 document claimed that approximately 15 billion "high-risk" scam advertisements were being displayed on Meta's platform each day. Due to a flaw in the company's content filtering system, the company only took action when its automated systems had at least a 95% certainty of fraud.
