Work From Home, But Only in Delhi-NCR? Employee Raises Concerns Over New Policy
A company implemented rotational WFH when shifting to a smaller office after layoffs, but stipulated that employees remain in Delhi-NCR.
Many individuals view telecommuting as a flexible way to work; however, there has been an increase in doubts about telecommuting due to recent developments by a particular company. There was a post on Reddit regarding a new policy implemented by the company regarding work from home, which has since become controversial.
The employee noted that a huge layoff occurred at the firm, reducing the workforce from forty workers to fifteen. Due to these layoffs, the company terminated its lease agreement for the larger space used by the company and moved into a small office within the same building. Due to the lack of seating arrangements for all employees in the new office, the company decided to implement work-from-home on a rotational basis.
According to the post, the new office, located on the fifth floor, only has four seats available. In such a situation, some employees will work from the office, while others will work from home. This arrangement will be changed after a few weeks, and employees currently in the office will work from home, while those working from home will be called to the office.
