Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a grand welcome on Wednesday as he arrived at the "Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha," organised by the BJP under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan to mark his 25 years in public office as head of government.
Supporters showered flowers, held BJP flags and chanted slogans including "Bharat Mata ki Jai" and "Swagat hai, bhai swagat hai; Modi ji ka swagat hai." Many in the crowd captured the moment on their phones.
"Like a Lamp Burning Itself"
Addressing the gathering, BJP National President Nitin Nabin congratulated the Prime Minister. "Over these 25 years, like a lamp burning itself, you have continuously strived through your hard work and dedication to spread the light of development, confidence and self-respect in the lives of 140 crore Indians," he said.
