Plane crash: Crew member's family says that the phone is still ringing but no one is picking up

Manish Kamdar, a resident of Nagpur, said that his daughter Yasha, his one-and-a-half-year-old son, and his mother-in-law were on the plane to London. Nothing has been known about the three since the plane crash. My son-in-law is outside the hospital in Ahmedabad, where people have been brought after the accident.

Manish Kamdar, who is upset after the plane crash, said that I had talked to my daughter on the phone at 9 am on Thursday. But now my family and I have no information about her. So far, neither Air India nor the government has contacted my family. I am going to Ahmedabad by road. My son-in-law is waiting outside the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad, but no information has been received so far. No one is allowed to go inside the hospital. My daughter's father-in-law lived in Britain, and he died a month ago. My daughter was going to London with her mother-in-law and one-and-a-half-year-old son to attend the prayer meeting of her father-in-law.

Before flying from Ahmedabad to London, crew member Deepak Pathak had talked to his mother. Deepak's elder sister said that he had talked to his mother and said that he was about to fly to London. Deepak was an employee of Air India for about 11 years. Deepak's sister said that after the plane crashed, we called, but it was not connected. After some time, Deepak's mobile phone rang, but there was no response. After the plane crash, people from the neighbourhood gathered at Deepak's house and consoled the family. Deepak's friend Aditya said Deepak was very friendly and good-natured.

An elderly Maharashtra couple from the Solapur district had been traveling to London to see their son. They boarded the Air India aircraft that crashed immediately after takeoff in Ahmedabad on Thursday. Mahadev Pawar (68) and Asha Pawar (60) belonged to Hatid village in Sangola tehsil in Solapur district. According to a senior official of the Solapur district administration, the Pawar couple had been living in Ahmedabad for some time. Mahadev Pawar worked in a textile mill in Nadiad, Gujarat. He has two sons — one lives in Ahmedabad and the other in London.
