India's Airlines Cancel 26,000 Flights Amid West Asia Conflict, Government Tells Lok Sabha

Indian airlines have cancelled approximately 26,000 international flights up to July 20 due to the conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran. Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol stated that this has resulted in significant revenue losses for airlines and increased operational costs.

India's Airlines Cancel 26,000 Flights Amid West Asia Conflict, Government Tells Lok Sabha

Around 26,000 flights have been cancelled by Indian airlines from the start of January till July 20 on account of the dispute between the US, Israel, and Iran. There were also instances of flight diversion and delay.

In reply to a question in Lok Sabha, Murlidhar Mohol, the Minister of State for Civil Aviation, stated that airlines are facing heavy losses and are taking measures to sustain operations.

According to him, the dispute, which began since late February, has had an adverse effect on the aviation sector. Airlines are facing the problem of high fuel prices and restrictions on airspace in West Asia.
