Delhi-NCR Expansion Plan: Four New NaMo Cities Proposed to Reduce Pressure on Delhi, Noida and Gurugram
It has been decided to build four new greenfield 'NaMo Cities' in the National Capital Region (NCR), which will be developed around the RRTS.
In order to reduce the burden of the cities within the National Capital Region (NCR), which includes Delhi, Gurugram, and Noida, it has been planned to construct four new cities in the NCR in the coming future, named NaMo Cities.
These new cities will be constructed around the RRTS (Rapid Rail Transit System). In five years' time, five thousand crore rupees will be invested in the development of each city. The environmental standards will also be kept in view while constructing these cities.
The plan of action regarding the construction of these four new cities was arrived upon during the recent meeting of the NCR Planning Board chaired by Union Urban Development Minister Manohar Lal.
