Mumbai's first underground metro route opened for public from BKC to Aarey, fare between ₹10 to ₹50
Mumbai Metro: Regular metro operations on the 'Aqua Line' will begin on Tuesday. According to the notification, these services will be operated from 6.30 am to 10.30 pm from Monday to Saturday and from 8.30 am to 10.30 pm on Sunday.
On Monday, the first underground of Mumbai was opened to the public, the route is from Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Aarey. This is the first phase of the Aqua Line. On the first day, a large crowd gathered to witness the journey from BKC to the Aarey section of Mumbai Metro Line 3. Metro service to the general public began in this section at 11 a.m.
On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 12.69-kilometer first phase of Mumbai Metro Line 3's BKC-Aarey section. He went from BKC to Santacruz and back. During this time, he interacted with students, beneficiaries of Maharashtra's Ladki Behen Yojana, and laborers working on the underground line.
In this regard, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation has already informed its commuters that regular metro operations on 'Aqua Line' would commence from Tuesday. The notification also stated that these services will be operated from 6.30 am to 10.30 pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 8.30 am to 10.30 pm on Sunday.
MMRC said the minimum and maximum fare for traveling on metro line -3 would be Rs 10 and Rs 50, respectively. The passengers can book tickets through NCMC, three applications of Mumbai Metro, and ticket vending machines among others.
