Molasses Export: Now 50% duty will be imposed on molasses export, will help in making ethanol, know when will it be implemented
Molasses Export: The Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA) has welcomed the government's decision to impose a 50 per cent duty on molasses export. About 15-16 lakh tonnes of molasses is exported every year, which is about 10 per cent of the total quantity of molasses produced, the organization said.

The government will increase the availability of molasses (molasses) to make ethanol in the country. For this, the government has imposed a 50 per cent duty on the export of molasses. It will be implemented from January 18.
The government says that such a huge export duty will ensure the availability of molasses. This will increase the production of ethanol. With this, the target of ethanol adulteration in fuel will be achieved. The target is to mix 15 per cent ethanol in petrol in the current year. For this, 690 litres of ethanol will be required.
There is also a possibility of a reduction in sugarcane production from October to September. India supplies 25 per cent of the molasses in the world. The states that export molasses are Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka, which export to countries like Thailand, Netherlands, South Africa and the Philippines.
