Matthew Hayden gave this advice to 'MS Dhoni' on Chennai's defensive approach
LSG vs CSK, IPL 2025: Chennai Super Kings have performed very poorly so far in IPL 2025. The team has won just one match out of six and is at the bottom of the points table. The team will hope to make a comeback in the match to be held on Monday at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

Former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden has shared his view on Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He feels that the five-time winning team does not generally believe in changes on a grand scale, and will take the field with its first principle - "Trust yourself and believe in the process".
Chennai Super Kings have been playing extremely poorly in IPL 2025 so far. Chennai has won only one of their six matches to date and is ranked last in points. Their team will hope to stage a comeback in Monday's match which will be played at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
Matthew Hayden said on Jiostar, "I don't think there will be any major change in Chennai Super Kings (CSK). It is not in their habit. They may not be able to score 60 runs in the powerplay, but they have to do something different. If you keep doing the same thing again and again without changing anything and expect good results, then that is called madness."
CSK started the tournament with a win over Mumbai Indians, but after that, they lost five matches in a row. The team has lost this defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. This is the first time in the history of IPL that Chennai Super Kings have lost 5 matches in a row. Not only this, but this is also the first time that Chennai has lost three consecutive matches at its home ground MA Chidambaram Stadium.
The team is also missing its captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is out due to an elbow injury. In his place, MS Dhoni is now captaining the team. Also, 17-year-old Mumbai young batsman Ayush Mhatre is being included in the team as an alternative to Gaikwad.
However, Dhoni's return as captain could not change the team's fortunes and Chennai Super Kings had to face defeat in the last match against Kolkata Knight Riders as well. Team head coach Stephen Fleming said, "Dhoni is definitely important, but he does not have a magic wand. We have to work hard with him. We both have faced such situations before in our careers and know that it is important to put energy in the right direction."
