Manipur Police Arrest Members of Banned Outfits in Coordinated Operations
Security forces in Manipur have arrested three militants while conducting operations against an insurgent network. Members affiliated with the Kangleipak Communist Party (Noyon), Prepak (Pro), and the PLA were apprehended in Imphal East and West districts. Bombs, weapons, and ammunition were also recovered in Thoubal and Imphal East during search operations. This action was taken to curb insurgency in the valley areas.
The security agencies in Manipur have escalated their actions against insurgent groups by arresting three militants who are members of banned groups from the valley region. Bombs, arms, and ammunition have been seized during search operations carried out in other regions.
According to police, an insurgent affiliated with the Kangleipak Communist Party (Noyon) was arrested in the Kongpal Chingangbam area of Imphal East district. Meanwhile, a 50-year-old member of the banned Prepak (Pro) organization was arrested from the Ambekhongnangkhong area of Imphal West district.
A militant associated with the banned People's Liberation Army was also arrested from the Nagaram area of the same district, accused of involvement in extortion. Ten demand letters were recovered from him.

Meanwhile, weapons and ammunition were seized during the search operation in the Ikop Pat area of the Thoubal district. A country-made AK rifle, a hand grenade, and bombs were seized from the Natum Ching and Sanasabi hills in the Imphal East district.
